Description
Genuine Subaru head bolts. Don’t settle for aftermarket.
Replacing cylinder head bolts on a Subaru is important because many Subaru engines us torque-to-yield (TTY) head bolts that are designed to stretch during installation.
Reasons to replace:
-They can permanently stretch: Once a TTY bolt has been torqued and stretched, it may not provide the same clamping force if reused.
-Proper head-gasket sealing: New bolts help maintain the correct, consistent clamping force needed to seal the cylinder head to the engine block.
-Prevents coolant and oil leaks: Insufficient or uneven clamping can contribute to head-gasket sealing problems.
-Reduces the chance of combustion leaks: Proper bolt tension helps prevent combustion pressure from escaping between the head and block.
-Correct torque procedure: New bolts allow the factory torque-and-angle procedure to achieve the intended clamping load.
-Low cost compared with the repair:: If the heads are already removed for a head-gasket repair, replacing the bolts is inexpensive insurance against having to redo the job.
